The University of Macau (UM) said in a statement yesterday that Rector Yonghua Song (aka Song Yonghua) gave an online speech about technological innovation and the construction of intellectual property (IP) ecosystems at the plenary session of the conference on innovation and IP protection as part of Boao Forum for Asia 2022 in Hainan.
The forum was held from July 12-13 online and in-person, the statement noted. Song also gave his opinions and UM’s experience on the topic to guests involved in politics, business and academia worldwide.
Themed global technological innovation and IP systems, the statement pointed out that the plenary session focused on global IP protection systems’ construction to “facilitate the development of technological innovation and a knowledge-based economy”.
More than 200 guests from different places attended the event, such as Macau’s former chief executive and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee Vice-Chairman Edmund Ho Hau Wah and Boao Forum for Asia Secretary General Li Baodong, and heads of the World Intellectual Property Organisation and China National Intellectual Property Administration, the statement pointed out.
