Starting today, some banks will reopen for business from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., while insurance companies and Pension Fund (PF) management businesses will provide limited services on an appointment basis, the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) said in a statement on Saturday.

The statement pointed out that the financial institutions will maintain limited operations and provide necessary financial services to the public from today through Friday.

The AMCM urged the public to make full use of the financial institutions’ online services and avoid going to their outlets for non-emergency transactions and services.

Moreover, the statement said, the AMCM’s service counters for insurance intermediaries at Tung Hei Kok Building will provide a limited service for approved applicants to collect their insurance intermediary licences by appointment, while the services of new applications and renewals will remain suspended. It added that insurance intermediary licences, which expire between June and August, have been extended automatically until September 30.
