Macau Customs officers have cracked a brand-piracy case after busting three pharmacies and two suppliers for selling an imitation of the well-known Japanese brand Oronine H ointment.
A Macau Customs Service statement said yesterday their officers carried out the inspection from Tuesday to yesterday after receiving a report that a pharmacy in Toi San district was suspected of selling counterfeit products.
According to the statement, as “Oronine H” is a registered trademark in Macau, Customs officers inspected several pharmacies and shops that are selling the product and found a total of 925 jars of fake Oronine H ointment from three pharmacies and two suppliers, with a market value of about 70,000 patacas.
