Nigerian DJ nabbed for cocaine trafficking

A part-time Nigerian DJ working in a local nightclub has been detained on suspicion of drug trafficking, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a press conference yesterday.

According to the PJ spokesperson, they stopped and searched the Nigerian man, aged 39, early yesterday morning near the stadium roundabout in Taipa after a tip-off.

The spokesperson said that during the search, police officers found four bags of cocaine weighing a total of 2.12 grammes on the man and later found another 17 bags of cocaine totalling 11.38 grammes and some drug-taking paraphernalia at his home. The seized cocaine has a black market value of 45,000 patacas, according to the police.
