Residential property price index drops 0.3 pct: DSEC

The Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) said in a statement yesterday that Macau’s overall residential property price index for April-June decreased 0.3 percent over the previous survey period (March-May). 

According to the bureau, the indices for the peninsula and Taipa-Coloane dipped 0.2 percent and 0.5 percent respectively.

The index for existing residential units decreased 0.2 percent. While the index for those in Taipa-Coloane fell 0.6 percent, the one for the peninsula remained unchanged from previous period. 

The indices for residential units of buildings between six and 10 years old and for those between 11 and 20 years old shed 0.5 percent and 0.1 percent respectively, while the index for those five years old or less rose 0.4 percent. 

The index for pre-sale residential units gained 0.3 percent.

The index for residential units with a usable floor area between 50 and 74.9 square metres decreased 1.1 percent, while the index for those with a floor area of 100 square metres and over increased1.4 percent.

Analysed by quarter, the overall residential property price index in the second quarter shrank 0.4 percent from the first quarter.
