The Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said in a statement yesterday that the 27th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair’s (MIF) number of booths in the “Macao SME Exhibition Area” will be doubled from 80 to 160, while a discounted exhibitor’s fee of 500 patacas is offered to eligible local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The fair will be held at the Venetian’s Cotai Expo from October 20-22, the statement noted. The statement pointed out that the aim of expanding the SME Exhibition Area is to increase local consumption through the event and assist local enterprises in expanding markets. The 500-pataca fee aims to encourage SMEs to join the event.
The upcoming fair will cover areas such as local delicacies and souvenirs, home furnishings and electronic appliances, and a cultural and creative newcomers’ bazaar, according to the statement. A business services area (MICE services, education, logistics, trade, e-commerce, point-of-sale (POS) systems and design) are also expected to be covered, which includes “Made in Macao” products, “Macao Brands”, and local agents of products from Portuguese-speaking countries.
The statement said that in order to simplify the application process, the 27th MIF will, for the first time, fully adopt online registration. Companies can submit applications through IPIM’s online application system at macaomice.ipim.gov.mo until August 22. For enquiries and detailed instructions, one can call 2882 8711.
Meanwhile, the statement added that the number of 500-pataca booths is limited, with a raffle to be held in case of overbooking. The organiser reserves the right of final decision on the arrangements, the statement underlined.
