The private Macao Boxing House’s “Attitude of Youth Boxing Tournament of Four Regions Across the Straits – Call Motion Youth” on Saturday was a night of mixed results for local amateur fighters against pugilists from Hong Kong, the mainland and Taiwan.
Originally eight bouts were planned for the evening at the gym in Fat Lei Industrial Building, but due to an injury to one of the local guys there were only seven bouts, the sixth fight was the mainland versus Taiwan. The mainland fighter won the bout when his opponent from Taiwan threw in the towel at the start of the third round.
At the beginning of the first fight spectators were still arriving when Andre Rodrigues entered the ring against a local opponent from another gym, coming out on top at the end of the three-round bout to the cheers of the partisan crowd.
