Macau’s Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) said early today that the probability of hoisting the Tropical Storm Signal No. 8 was “medium to relatively high”.
The observatory said that it would consider issuing the Tropical Storm Signal No. 8 “at dawn” today, depending on the development of Tropical Storm “Mulan” and changes in the local wind.
It also said that the Strong Wind Signal No.3 would “remain in effect before 4 a.m.” today.
According to the bureau, at 3 a.m. “Mulan” was located about 390 km south-southwest of Macau, moving towards Guangdong’s Leizhou peninsula.
At 3 a.m. the Yellow Storm Surge warning was still in effect as the bureau forecast floods of up to 1.0 metre in low-lying areas today.
