The government had received two bids for 5G licences before the tender’s submission deadline at 5 p.m. on Friday last week.

The Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) made the announcement in a statement on Friday evening.

The two bidders are CTM and China Telecom (Macau) Limited. Both are among the city’s current four telecom operators that are running 4G services.

The statement said that CTT officials will unseal the two bids at 3 p.m. today at the bureau’s headquarters.

The statement underlined that the government aims to decide the bidding results by the end of this year.

The tendering will grant up to four 5G licences.
