Consumer Council Executive Committee member Lewis Chan Hon Sang said yesterday a government-initiated bill on protecting consumer rights was in its final drafting stages, adding that it would be ready for the legislative process later this year.
Chan also said the bill aimed to strengthen consumers’ right to access information about products and their right to ask for compensation.
Chan made the remarks after taking part in a phone-in radio programme about the city’s skyrocketing food prices.
