A male student fell victim to blackmail after chatting in the nude with a female stranger on a social media app, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chan Wun Man said at a regular press conference yesterday.
According to Chan, the student in his twenties met a female online in the wee hours of yesterday, and then they started talking on Telegram. Chan said that the female then asked the victim whether he wanted to chat in the nude with her and the victim agreed.
Chan noted that two minutes after they started chatting in the nude, the session ended abruptly and a man added the victim to his friends list. The man sent the victim a video taken during the naked chat and asked for 8,900 yuan (10,500 patacas), threatening him that if he failed to pay up, the video would be released to his family members.
Chan said that the victim reported the case to the police yesterday, and no money was handed over in the incident.
