In response to the Yellow hot weather alert hoisted by the observatory, the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) has opened its cooling shelter in E1 Bairro da Ilha Verde Building at 34 Rua Leste da Ilha Verde, until the temperature returns to a more amenable weather condition, according to an IAS statement yesterday.

According to the statement, in accordance with the government’s COVID-19 prevention and control measures, users of the shelter are required to show a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) result for the day before entering the shelter.

In line with the Health Bureau’s (SSM) COVID-19 prevention guidelines, users must wear a facemask, undergo a temperature check, show their Macau Health Code after scanning a venue QR code and keep on-site social distancing, the statement underlined.

The bureau urged the public to pay close attention to the health conditions of senior citizens living at home or alone who suffer from chronic diseases or are in frail health and to take appropriate precautions during the blistering heat.

For more information about the shelter, call 2827 0939 during office hours or 6399 1963 during non-office hours.
