The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement that the “Experience Macao, Unlimited” Caravan Roadshow Series across nine Greater Bay Area (GBA) cities in Guangdong commenced yesterday, with the first roadshow having been rolled out at Aoyuan Plaza in Zhuhai.
According to the statement, the roadshow will tour across the cities to introduce Macau’s “tourism+” elements including events and gastronomy, and travel tips and special offers. The statement noted that the opening ceremony was attended by MGTO Deputy Director Cheng Wai Tong and Zhuhai Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau Deputy Director Liu Xiaoman, among others.
The caravan, the statement said, turned into a stage for shows, while there are also outdoor interactive zones such as a game booth and parent-and-child workshop. Macau’s six major integrated tourism enterprises also ran promotional booths. Moreover, participants also have a chance to redeem gifts and enter a lucky draw to win a one-day pre-wedding photography package in Macau, the statement said.
MGTO also invited the Economic Development Bureau of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the statement added, as well as the Zhongshan and Zhuhai tourism offices to join the roadshow to promote multi-destination travel among the destinations, while online travel agencies (OTAs) are selling various tourism products.
MGTO, the statement noted, also continues to partner with airlines and OTAs, among others, under the new “My Treat for You, See You in Macao” theme to release special offers for mainland visitors throughout the year. Visitors can get offers including buy-one-get-one-free flight tickets. A Macau Pass with 50 patacas will also be given upon a purchase of any Macau tourism product with a 50 percent-off Macau hotel coupon at the roadshows, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the statement pointed out that the 10-day “7th Macao International Lotus Calligraphy Art and Ink Painting Exhibition Touring in the Greater Bay Area – Zhuhai” also started yesterday, enabling Zhuhai residents to admire a collection of calligraphy artworks and lotus blossom ink paintings. It is held at the China Red Sandalwood Museum Hengqin Branch and is organised by the Delight (Macau) Calligraphy Association with the support of the Publicity and Culture Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau Special Administrative Region, among others, the statement said.
