The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement yesterday that its “Macau filming the lucky ones” (“澳門拍拍幸運兒”) campaign will be carried out in three phases, adding that the first phase will be open for recruitment from today until September 22.
According to the statement, the campaign will provide tourists with a new itinerary and free guided tours. The journey will be made into a short film to promote the characteristics of Macau tourism from the perspective of tourists’ first experience, to attract more visitors to the city and help the recovery of the local tourism sector.
The statement noted that the campaign will provide the “lucky” travellers with a courtesy trip and a three-to four-hour tour, including free visits to scenic spots and authentic snacks. At the end of the trip, the statement added, apart from a short video clip of the trip, a souvenir will also be given to the “lucky” tourists, who must agree to MGTO uploading the video clip on MGTO’s social media platforms.
The statement underlined that the campaign’s selected tourists for the first phase will be required to visit Macau before the end of next month to enjoy the designated visit. The statement added that the recruitment arrangements for the second and third phases will be announced shortly.
The statement noted that tourists who are interested in the campaign can apply via WeChat and Weibo through September 22 by typing their wish on any of the two platforms to complete a travel experience in Macau or posting their travel experience and tips from their past trips to Macau. WeChat users can access the “mini programme” by scanning the QR code or by following MGTO’s official account to upload their story, the statement said, while Weibo users can directly participate in the activity by adding the hashtag “#澳門拍拍幸運兒# to their story.
According to the number of votes or interactions, such as retweets, comments and likes, of the content of the participants uploaded on the two social media platforms, the top two users on the two participating platforms will be selected as the participants of the campaign, the statement said, adding that staff members of the campaign will contact the “lucky” tourists to confirm the specific time of their visit to Macau, so as to further coordinate and participate in the programme.
The statement did not say if the top two users can choose to be accompanied by someone on their “lucky” trip to Macau.
