A book launch for a bi-lingual illustration book entitled “Granny Pirate” is slated to take place on Sunday, alongside other activities such as puppet storytelling and a family puppetry workshop.

The illustration book is based on a 2019 Mid-Autumn Festival performance of the same name, which has taken stories and the group’s observations from Coloane’s communities. It was created by the theatre group “Rolling Puppet Alternative Theatre”.

Aside from the book launch and activities, the event website said that there will also be a guest talk by columnist, Júbilo 31 bookshop owner and illustration book curator Lin Daxiang.

The statement said that the event will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The House of Puppets, an independent art space located at 28 Rua dos Negociantes in Coloane. Further details and the registration for the workshop and storytelling activity can be found at https://sites.google.com/view/midautumnpuppetryday/english.

The statement also urged participants to pay attention to the venue’s COVID-19 pandemic prevention guidelines, present a valid and green Macau Health Code, undergo a temperature check, and wear a facemask before entering the venue.
