SJM Resorts said in a statement on Tuesday that together with the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao (UGAMM), seniors who live alone were invited for a guided tour of the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau for the Mid-Autumn Festival.
UGAMM is commonly known as Kai Fong in Cantonese.
The tour, the statement noted, was part of SJM’s social community programme and “promoted the traditional Chinese virtue of filial piety and respect for the elderly”.
According to the statement, tour participants arrived at the resort during the afternoon and were provided with a tour of the range of its facilities on offer. These included art pieces in the hotel lobbies’ East and West wings created by local masters, guest rooms and suites and the lantern installations in Jardim Secreto, which the statement said are highlights for the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The statement added that the seniors took pictures of and marvelled at the lanterns, which had traditional craftsmanship and contemporary designs, and took pictures of them. The tour ended with SJM giving its signature mooncakes to each participant.
The statement underlined that SJM has long been a supporter of social welfare programmes, actively organising a variety of events “to provide warmth and care to those in need and promote a harmonious culture in the community”.
