5.2 quake hits Liunan, 504 km northwest of Macau

The local observatory announced in a statement yesterday that at 9:44 p.m. a magnitude 5.2 earthquake occurred in Liunan District, Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The statement said that the focal depth was approximately 10 kilometres, while the epicentre was located at approximately 24.37 degrees north latitude and 109.26 degrees east longitude, about 504 kilometres west-northwest of Macau.

A journalist at a local newspaper office noted that some of the members of editorial team said that they had felt the temblor, which lasted for a few seconds.
