The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) urged the public to stop eating a type of goat’s cheese manufactured by “Président” imported from France as it was possibly contaminated with metallic foreign bodies.
According to an IAM statement yesterday, the problematic product named “Président Sainte-Maure” goat’s cheese with a net weight of 200 grammes and a best before date of November 1, 2022, and use by November 5, 2022.
The statement noted that the product had been supplied to the market by a local importer.
The statement underlined that the bureau immediately alerted the food sector about the incident, and asked the shops to stop selling the suspected items while recalling the product from the market.
IAM staff members have been sent to inspect local shops and also to trace the circulation of the products, the statement added.
The bureau urged people who bought the product to stop eating it.
