Sheraton Grand Macao said in a statement this week that it has celebrated its 10th anniversary, with the company having hosted a party for its associates at its heart-of-the-house area on Wednesday in appreciation of their dedication throughout the 10 years.
The hotel opened in September 2012.
According to the statement, the event, which was also attended by executive committee members, opened with a speech by Sheraton Grand Macau-cum-The St. Regis Macao Multi-Property Vice President Janet McNab, who thanked the team for their dedication and enthusiasm. She was quoted in the statement as saying: “In only 10 years, our hotel has welcomed millions of guests from around the globe. As the largest Sheraton in the world, we’re proud of our achievements and want to celebrate this milestone with our loyal guests. We are confident that together with the unity and hard work of our associates, we can seize the opportunities and look forward to many more years of continued success.”
The statement listed Sheraton’s milestones throughout its hospitality journey, which included Sheraton Macao Hotel, Cotai Central’s grand opening in 2012, the city’s biggest hotel; the launch of The DreamWorks Experience, the first-of-its-kind family destination in the city in 2013; being awarded the “TTG China Travel Awards TTG, Best New Hotel in Macau” in 2014; becoming recognised as a Sheraton Grand hotel and Marriott International merging with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and subsequently creating the world’s largest hotel company in 2016; and welcoming its 10 millionth guest in 2018.
The statement added that Sheraton has also won up to 120 awards over the past 10 years such as the Best City Hotel by TTG Travel Awards, Best Leisure Hotel of the Year by China Travel & Meeting Industry Awards, Best Family Hotel by Voyage China, Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Award, among others.
Meanwhile, to mark the special occasion and thank the local community, Sheraton has also launched the “Perfect 10 Special Room Offer” where guests can enjoy breakfast or receive an upgrade to a Deluxe Cotai View Room for only 10 patacas “when booking the best available rates on Sheraton Grand Macao’s official website”, the statement said.
The statement noted that the offer is available for bookings made from September 18-30 for stays from September 20 to October 31.
