The 10th Macao International Travel (Industry) (MITE), which was held both online and offline, concluded on Sunday, with the three-day event attracting around 30,000 visitors, the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement yesterday.
The 10th MITE was held at the Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo, with the exhibition floor covering around 23,000 square metres and accommodating 830 booths. The statement noted that it was joined by a total of 454 exhibitors online and offline.
The event’s “Cloud Live Broadcast” reached 3.06 million live views and had 12 e-commerce and social media platforms assisting exhibitors in promoting their products and conduct live-stream sales, according to the statement. The statement said that the live streams conducted by eight mainland key opinion leaders (KOLs) and 13 Macau KOLs spanned 69 hours throughout the expo. It also had the participation of 40 on-site exhibitors.
The statement added that 33 tourism entities, enterprises and KOLs conducted 24 sessions of “Cloud Live Promotion” and engaged with over 900 on-site spectators.
The statement pointed out that over 4,500 business-to-business meetings were conducted in three days for on-site business matching. Meanwhile, the event facilitated the online and offline signing of 29 contracts involving 49 enterprises. The signing ceremonies were witnessed by MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, MGTO Deputy Director Ricky Hoi Io Meng, and Macau Travel Agency Association President Alex Lao Nga Fong, the statement underlined.
The “Agreement on In-depth Cooperation Between Hengqin and Macau Travel Trade” was also signed during the expo on Friday, the statement added. It was witnessed by the director of the Committee on Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Liao Jingshan, Senna Fernandes and the acting deputy director of the Economic Development Bureau of Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Zhang Ge.
