A man torched three potted plants with a cigarette lighter outside a casino in Nape, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the statement, the casino’s staff reported to the police that three potted plants placed outside one of its lobbies caught fire when a man was smoking next to them on Sunday at 6 a.m. The fire was put out by a security guard, and the casino staff estimated the burnt plants to be worth 52,000 patacas.
The statement said that CCTV footage showed that when the man was walking out of the lobby door, he lit his cigarette with a lighter, after which he did not extinguish it and torched the potted plants.
The case has been transferred to the arson section of the Judiciary Police.
