The 11th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) will launch registration for an array of “Cloud Invitation and Briefing Sessions” today for tourism and related businesses from other destinations, and for members of the local travel trade tomorrow, according to a Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) statement yesterday.
The expo is slated to take place from June 30 to July 2.
Themed “MITE connects the World”, the statement added that the 11th MITE calls for the participation of industry delegates from near and afar “to expand regional and international tourism cooperation through on-site exhibitions, exchanges and business networking”.
To widen channels for business networking, sales and to create new partnerships, the statement pointed out, the event will again feature the online “Cloud” series, including “Cloud B2B” and “Cloud Live Broadcast” and “Cloud Contract Signing”.
The statement underlined that MITE, which is in line with the Macau government’s “1+4*” appropriate diversification development strategy, aims to deliver Macau’s “unique strengths and become a powerhouse of tourism and other related sectors”. It is also in line with the aim of enriching Macau’s offerings as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, according to the statement.

According to the 1+4 model, the government will consolidate the development of the city’s tourism and leisure industry while putting special emphasis on promoting the development of four new key industries: 1) big health, 2) modern finance, 3) high-tech, and 4) conventions and exhibitions as well as culture and sports.
