A local woman was arrested for stealing a bottle of liquor from a supermarket in Fai Chi Kei district, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Leong Chi Seng said at a regular press conference yesterday.
Leong, the spokesman, said that the 56-year-old suspect surnamed Leong told the police that she’s jobless.
Leong said that when the suspect was leaving the supermarket on Monday at 11 a.m., a staff member suspected that she had stolen something and called the police. Police arrived at the scene and found a bottle of spirits worth 100 patacas inside the suspect’s handbag, after which she admitted stealing it out of greed.
Leong faces a theft charge, and her case has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), the spokesman said.
