Sands China said in a recent statement that it held the “Our 15 Years of Excellence” and “Our Perfect 10, Thank You” ceremonies at the Venetian and the Londoner in Cotai in June and September respectively, to celebrate its staff members’ anniversaries in working for the company for 15 and 10 years respectively.
The statement said that at both ceremonies Sands President Wilfred Wong Ying Wai expressed the resort operator’s gratitude for the long-serving staff members’ loyalty and their continuous contributions to the development of the company’s services and facilities.
At the ceremonies, the statement pointed out, employees celebrating 15 years of service received an Honourable Service Award – a 15th-anniversary souvenir box containing an anniversary certificate, a pin designed by a fellow staff member, and a commemorative tie or scarf, symbolising the heritage of the company’s spirit and to represent the close bond between staff members.
The statement noted that the staff members also received a voucher for a 15-year anniversary meal to enjoy with a loved one at their choice at one of 11 designated restaurants in Sands China’s properties, while the 10-year anniversary staff members were recognised with a commemorative plaque, a pin and a voucher for a special 10-year anniversary meal.
In celebration of the Venetian’s 15th anniversary, staff members also enjoyed lucky draws, where 10-year anniversary staff members could win a Grado Mini Golf experience and 15-year veterans could win a limited-edition gold leaf souvenir at the Venetian’s Great Hall, according to the statement.
The statement noted that over 12,300 staff members have served the resorts for more than 10 years, representing 50 percent of all employees, while over 6,600 of them have served for more than 15 years, adding that more than 1,500 staff members have stayed with Sands China since its opening in 2004.
The percentage of local residents among Sands’ employees has soared from 20 percent in 2004 to 92 percent this year, the statement underlined.
