The 2022 Macau Franchise Expo (2022MFE) is slated to be held from Thursday to Saturday at the Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo, aiming to provide “timely and appropriate assistance for enterprises in different development stages”, the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said in a statement yesterday.
The event is held concurrently with the “27th Macau International Trade and Investment Fair” (MIF) and the “2022 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao)” (PLPEX).
The statement noted that the first Franchise Seminar will be held on Saturday, which will invite representatives from the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT), the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and the Consumer Council (CC) to assist prospective small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in starting a business by providing pre-establishment information, with topics such as trademark registration and start-up loans for young entrepreneurs to be discussed.
The statement added that the seminar will be held at the Protocol Signing Centre of the Macau Pavilion in Cotai Expo Hall B.
Meanwhile, on Friday, the 2nd Forum on “Macao Classic Brands” will be held at the Venetian’s Florence Meeting Room in conjunction with the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and the private Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), with the attendance of Guangdong classic brands’ representatives. The statement said that the forum will focus on the transformation and opportunities of local time-honoured brands in the post-pandemic era.
Meanwhile, at the “One-stop Business Support Centre”, specialist consultants will answer enterprises’ questions on the development of the “new retail” sector and enterprises in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and online promotion for SMEs, among others. The services aim to facilitate local SMEs’ “digital transformation and upgrading, and provide prompt assistance for SMEs in data mining and precise marketing”, the statement noted.
Moreover, according to the statement, a trade delegation will be taken by the 2022MFE to visit a large shopping centre in Zhuhai. The statement added that the economic and trade departments of Xiangzhou district in Zhuhai will introduce Macau’s franchising enterprises and SME owners to the local business environment and policies, while Macau business owners who have “successfully established their footholds” in the mainland will be invited to share their experience.
