Lisboeta Macau said in a statement on Wednesday that with the approach of autumn and welcoming “the season for perfect crabs”, Royal Palace, Stanley’s Café and Signature Noodles have all incorporated crabs into dishes to present the exclusive seasonal “Golden Crab Feast”, which is available until November 30.

At Royal Palace, a Steamed Whole Hairy Crab With Perilla (per piece) served with ginger tea is priced from 168 patacas. Steaming, according to the statement, is among the best ways to cook hairy crabs and brings out its original taste, while the perilla adds flavour and “helps dispel [a] cold”.

Perilla is an East Asian herb with flavourful leaves used in cooking and as a garnish.

Another dish is the braised Baby Spinach with Hairy Crab Roe at 128 patacas where crab roe is added to the broth, with its “freshness and sweetness” absorbed, and then paired with baby spinach, according to the statement. Moreover, the Braised Chicken Broth with Dried Seafood and Hairy Crab Roe at 98 patacas features selected authentic Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs slowly simmered with dried scallops, fish maw and mushroom.

Other dishes at the Royal Palace are the Braised Bean Curd with Shrimp, Hairy Crab Meat and Roe, and the Steamed Egg with Hairy Crab Roe and Scallops. Both dishes are priced at 188 patacas.

Meanwhile, Stanley’s Café is offering the Baked Stuffed Crab Shell at 58 patacas. A fusion of Chinese and Portuguese culinary styles, the statement said that its ingredients include crab meat, herbs, ham and onions and three types of cheese.

Signature Noodles’ offering, meanwhile, is the Braised Noodles with Hairy Crab Roe, where the restaurant’s signature bamboo pressed noodles are covered with crab roe. The special dish is priced at 88 patacas.
