The concert is the brainchild of local record producer and musician Eric Chan Ming Yeung, the founder of Day’s Eye Records and leader of Forget the G, one of the three local bands that will be performing at the one-day festival.
In a telephone interview earlier this week, Chan told MPD Weekender that the concert was a “celebration of his own band, Forget the G’s fourth album ‘Dark Times’, the name of the album is related to all the stuff that is going on in the world right now.”
Chan said that Forget the G was a project that he started in Australia in 2005 and when he relocated to Macau the band actually became a reality in 2006/2007. He then set up Day’s Eye in 2010. All the bands that Chan produces are from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan with most of the bands doing “gothic, dark wave and experimental music”.
