The Social Security Fund (FSS) said in a statement on Monday that as of October 23 around 12,000 employers, or about 46 percent of the employers that are required to pay contributions (dues) into the fund, have still not paid the Social Security System’s obligatory system dues for their employees for the third quarter of 2022.
October is the “contribution month” for the third quarter.
The statement noted that employers are required by law to pay contributions for their local long-term employees within the month, with a late payment interest and a fine to be charged for late payments. If non-resident workers are hired, employment fees for them must be paid at the same time, the statement added.
Employers using the Electronic Filing Service may use designated banks’ electronic channels including AutoPay, online banking or ATMs, or the BOC EXPRESS for contribution payments if there are no staff changes in local long-term employees during the quarter or they have reported the employment information within the time limit. These methods may also be used to pay non-resident workers’ employment fees.
Meanwhile, employers who have not applied for the Electronic Filing Service and have no staff changes during the quarter can check the payment advice information about the contributions of long-term employees and non-resident workers’ employment fees at https://eservice.fss.gov.mo/Employer/cpa/Index.
Payments can be made through designated banks and some electronic channels as well as at the Municipal Affairs Bureau’s (IAM) Public Service Centres and Sub-Stations using the Employer Registration Number and Payment Advice Number, the statement said. Other employers can also make their payments at FSS service points.
Optional system beneficiaries can also pay their dues by logging onto the “Macao One Account” app or website and using electronic payment tools, or self-service kiosks with the FSS’s logo, counters and designated banks’ electronic channels and IAM’s Public Services Counters and Sub-Stations, the statement noted.
For late payments, the statement pointed out that contributions cannot be paid unless they are done so with late payment interest within two months after the statutory time limit’s expiration.
FSS urged employers and residents to utilise electronic channels for contribution payments or use the appointment service and obtain a ticket number online when visiting a service point.
