MGM forges partnerships with 2 local tech SMEs

Gaming resort operator MGM said in a recent statement that in order to accelerate the development of Macau’s smart tourism and open up more growth opportunities for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through “an increased uptake of digital solutions in the tourism industry”, it signed procurement contracts with two local tech SMEs – DigitalBay Limited and TECHCOMM Technical Consultation Limited – during the 27th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) in Cotai last week.

According to the statement, DigitalBay is a member of the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre (MYEIC) that has forged a partnership with MGM through the latter’s “MGM x MYEIC Young Entrepreneur Nurturing Programme”.

The statement said that the collaboration arrangement marks the sixth joint project of DigitalBay and MGM, the first of which was launched in 2021, adding that DigitalBay will tailor two digitalised systems, such as an “event management system” for MGM to further optimise its tourism service quality.

DigitalBay Founder and CEO Chris Wong (黃毅) was quoted by the statement as saying that “this cooperation with MGM leads to our maiden event management system, which also helps unlock new business opportunities for us.”

Meanwhile, the statement pointed out that MGM also finalised its first partnership with TECHCOMM. The statement noted that TECHCOMM will create and implement a new eHost Kiosk system at MGM’s digital self-service counters, which can offer guests a more personalised and efficient guest information platform.

The statement quoted TECHCOMM Managing Director Gavin Lam as saying that under their common vision in technological innovation, adding that the first partnership of TECHCOMM and MGM aspires to bring an enhanced user experience to resort operator’s guests and help advance Macau’s tourism development.

MGM owns two resorts in Macau – MGM MACAU and MGM COTAI.
