Macau's Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) lowered all its storm warning signals at 8:30 a.m. today, as Tropical Cyclone Nalgae moved away from Macau and weakened into a tropical depression. It made landfall west of Macau over Zhuhai.

Tropical Cyclone Signal No.8 was lowered to No.3 at 7 a.m. Signal No.8 had been hoisted at 9:30 p.m. yesterday. Meteorologists in Hong Kong noted that the hoisting of Signal No.8 is rare in November, pointing out that it was the first signal of its kind in that month in Hong Kong in five decades.

Officials of Macau's Civil Protection Operations Centre Tropical Cyclone Nalgae did not report any damage or casualties during Tropical Cyclone Nalgae.

According to the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS), only one person sought shelter in an emergency accommodation facility provided by the government during the storm.

The Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) announced this morning that Macau's nurseries, kindergartens and primary and special education schools remain closed today.

The local observatory forecast "a few showers" today.
