The Correctional Services Bureau (DSC) announced in a statement yesterday that as Macau has returned to its normalised COVID-19 prevention and control measures, following the recent outbreak of novel coronavirus cases, it will once again be possible to visit prison inmates and juvenile detainees every other week from today.

The statement noted that visitors, including lawyers, entering the prison and juvenile detention centre will be required to have a negative nucleic acid test (NAT) result valid for 48 hours and a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) valid for the day, wear a facemask that meets the government’s guidelines, undergo a temperature check, and show their Macau Health Code after scanning the venue QR code at the site.

Enquiries can be made by phone on 2888 1211 or by email at info@dsc.gov.mo during office hours.

Care & rehabilitation homes resume normal operations

Meanwhile, the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) announced in a statement that due to Macau having returned to its normal COVID-19 prevention and control measures yesterday, all local elderly care and rehabilitation homes have resumed normal operations after the suspension of visits and confining service users in their respective facilities.

The bureau thanked service users and their families for their understanding and cooperation while urging the facilities to continue to implement the government’s COVID-19 prevention and control measures to protect the health and safety of their respective service users and staff members.
