The first-ever Macao Kitchen Fair, themed “Good food, good kitchen, good life”, is slated to take place from Friday to Sunday at the Venetian’s Cotai Expo Hall D, the organisers said in a press conference yesterday at Nam Fong Building on Avenida da Amizade.
According to the press conference, the three-day fair, which is organised by Macau Kuoklui Convention and Exhibition Group Limited in conjunction with the Macau Union Suppliers Association, Macau Kitchenware Association and Macau Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce, comprises four areas, namely “home kitchen”, “commercial kitchen”, “green kitchen” and “used kitchen goods trading”.
Chaoshan is a city in Guangdong.
During the fair, the organisers said, a raft of colourful supporting activities, such as the “Portuguese Bacalhau Fritters” workshop, “I am Chef Minor” workshop, “Fermented Tea” workshop, and a seminar on vegetarianism, will be held.
The fair covers around 8,000 square metres and will accommodate over 200 booths run by both local and mainland exhibitors, where cooperation agreements will be signed to enhance future exchanges between Macau and the mainland, according to the press conference.
According to the organisers, the fair will build a one-stop catering purchasing and trading platform integrating sector information exchanges and new technology cooperation. Relying on the rich commercial resources of the local catering sector, social resources accumulated from all walks of life over the years, strong industrial aggregation capabilities, and a “unique” publicity and promotion ability, the fair also aims to create a new direction for the catering equipment and kitchen supplies sector with a “specialised, refined, special and new” brand catering equipment expo for the local sector and “professional buyers”, so as to give full play to its advantages to boost Macau’s appropriate economic diversification, the organisers pointed out during the press conference.
