The Civil Aviation Authority (AACM) announced in a statement yesterday that all unmanned aircraft activities or drones over the Macau Peninsula will be banned by the Macau government throughout the 69th Macau Grand Prix to ensure a safe environment during the race event.
The statement noted that “in accordance with the powers granted to the Civil Aviation Authority in Article 66 of the Air Navigation Regulation of Macau approved by Executive Order No. 43/2021, the Authority will ban all unmanned aircraft activities” from November 17-20 over the Macau peninsula’s skies to ensure that the Grand Prix will be held in a safe environment.
The ban does not apply to unmanned aircraft operations or drones operated by the government, the statement underlined, while all other unmanned aircraft activities are banned during the four-day event which starts today.
Those who breach the ban will be fined 2,000 to 20,000 patacas. The statement added that the notice was published in yesterday’s Official Gazette (BO).
