The “Pavilion of China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform” and “Macao Ideas” exhibition has opened, according to a statement by the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).

The statement noted that in conjunction with the Complex of Commerce and Trade Cooperation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (informally known as Forum Macao Complex), both aim to further expand Macau’s role as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), and enhance the development of trade, conventions and exhibition, and cultural sectors from China and PSCs.

The Pavilion, according to the statement, is located in Forum Macao Complex’s basement level 1. It covers 1,800 square metres and features seven exhibition areas, such as the Commercial and Trade Cooperation Exhibition Area and the Achievements Display Area.

There are also over 2,000 on-site exhibits and pieces of information about the China-PSCs platform’s latest developments through various multimedia installations, while business service facilities are also available, the statement underlined.

Meanwhile, “Macao Ideas”, which was established in 2011, has moved to the Forum Macao Complex’s basement level 1, the statement said. It gathers around 1,700 “Made-in-Macao”, “Macao Brand” and “Macao Design” products from over 100 local enterprises. The statement added that the products range from food to handicrafts, while some of the products are sold through smart vending machines.

IPIM, the statement pointed out, also plans to organise various activities in the area such as “livestream selling” and business matching sessions. The statement added that IPIM also plans to integrate “Made-in-Macao”, “Macao Brand” and “Macao Design” elements and Macau’s positioning as a China-PSCs platform to promote the city’s “appropriately diversified economic development”.

Moreover, the first “livestream selling” event will be held today in the Pavilion through an e-commerce platform to promote PSCs’ products, the statement noted.

The Pavilion and “Macao Ideas” are open from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Both are closed on weekends and public holidays. For more information, one can call 2836 6814 (Pavilion) or 2872 8212 (“Macao Ideas”), or visit https://www.ipim.gov.mo/. One can also follow “IPIM_MACAU” on WeChat.

The Pavilion also provides daily tour guide services in Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Portuguese.
