Aiming to celebrate Macau’s return to the motherland, enrich people’s leisure time and enhance the characteristics of local tourism resources, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement on Friday that it’s hosting the Winter Flower Show 2022 themed “Daisies’ Wonderland” from December 16 to January 1 on Avenida da Praia in Taipa as the main venue.
According to the statement, daisies and other festival flowers will be displayed in local major public parks and road verges during the event.
The statement noted that about 38,000 potted flowers will be displayed at the show, during which several daisy-themed exhibitions and activities, such as photos and text exhibitions, a photography competition, and flower-themed workshops, will also be held.
The show will be combined with the concept of a tour of European gardens as an environmental narrative, the statement pointed out, and in the run-up to the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit visitors can find a host of interesting stories about gardens and rabbits among the flowers.
The Chinese New Year of the Rabbit falls on January 22.
From the entrance to the centre, the statement added, the layout highlights a natural flower landscape, transitional flower bed, and an orderly and symmetrical manor maze, extending the tour route and greatly enhancing the fun of visiting the garden.
The statement said that horticultural designers have buried a variety of “treasures” suitable for all ages in different corners of the flower show, such as various rabbit-shaped green plant sculptures, check-in spots, and European-style arbours and seats so that the public can explore all kinds of fun and enjoy a complete festive atmosphere during the visit.
