The Judiciary Police (PJ) were informed by an off-duty firefighter on Friday that a female corpse had been washed ashore near Avenida dos Jardins do Oceano, the Judiciary Police said in a statement later that day.
No identification document or suicide note were found at the scene, the statement said, adding that the victim was a 1.65-metre-tall, thin, Asian female with long brown hair.
The statement noted that after a preliminary examination, no suspicious or criminally induced injuries were found on the corpse.
The cause of death is to be confirmed by forensic examination, the statement said.
