The Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) said in a statement yesterday that thanks to close liaison and cooperation between the governments of Hong Kong and Macau, ferry routes between the two cities will gradually resume from Sunday, providing cross-border transport services for residents and tourists travelling between the two special administrative regions.

Ferry services between Taipa and Hong Kong’s airport were restarted last Friday.

Initially, the statement pointed out, both TurboJET and Cotai Water Jet will first resume the ferry route between Taipa Ferry Terminal in Pac On and Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan, providing a total of about 10 round-trip sailings each day.

The first ferry departs from Taipa Ferry Terminal every day at 9 a.m. with the last ferry leaving the terminal at 5:30 pm, according to the statement, which added that the two ferry companies will “timely evaluate and adjust” the frequency and sailing points of their ferry services, according to passenger traffic demand.

The bureau urged the public to pay close attention to the latest COVID-19 travel regulations in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau before departing.

Moreover, according to a statement by Cotai Water Jet yesterday, the company will provide six sailings daily between Hong Kong and Macau, departing from Hong Kong at 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. and from Taipa at 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m.
