The Health Bureau (SSM) announced yesterday that the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre has resumed its inpatient services of its postpartum ward “in an orderly manner”.
Yesterday’s statement noted that in the wake of the improving COVID-19 situation, the pressure caused by a lack of beds at the public hospital has meanwhile been alleviated.
Consequently, the statement said, in order to resume the arrangement for postpartum mothers to breastfeed their newborns as soon as possible, the inpatient services of the hospital’s postpartum ward were restored yesterday through the reallocation of beds.
