Gaming resort operator MGM said in a recent statement that it is presenting festive feasts and delicacies for the Year of the Golden Rabbit.

The statement noted that Cantonese restaurants Chún at MGM COTAI and Imperial Court at MGM MACAU are serving Chinese New Year (CNY) special set dinner menus.

Imperial Court’s menu, the statement said, features dishes such as Baked Boston lobster with E fu noodle, sun-dried tomatoes and wild mushrooms and Double-boiled partridge soup with sea whelk, south jujube and honey locust fruit. Chún’s set menu has chef recommendations such as Stir-fried French blue lobster with black pepper sauce.

The statement added that both sets are priced at 6,800 patacas and are good for parties of six. They also offer celebratory à la carte, dim sum and a Poon Choi Treasure Bowl.

Poon Choi, or the Big Bowl Feast, is an essential dish for CNY in Cantonese culture and symbolises “affluence and togetherness”. Both restaurants will serve two kinds of Big Bowl Feast sets, both priced from 1,680 patacas, the statement added.

Meanwhile, the statement said that Sichuanese restaurant Five Foot Road at MGM COTAI will have its Chef de Cuisine Yang Dengquan deliver a taste of Sichuan festive delicacies to Macau with his over 35 years of culinary experience – the Chengdu Nine Dishes Banquet. The set is priced at 6,800 patacas and is good for parties of six.

The statement added that MGM is collaborating with local artist and “Macao: Back to Common Roots Narrative Film” creator and producer, Lok Hei, to design this year’s festive pudding gift boxes containing MGM’s festive puddings.

Flavours include Chinese New Year Coconut and Ginger Pudding and the new Water Chestnut and Osmanthus with Bird’s Nest Pudding. Gift vouchers are available for sale until January 21 at both MGM properties’ restaurants and are priced from 328 patacas, the statement said.

Chinese calligraphy and traditional papercutting artists have also been invited to be stationed at Imperial Court and Five Foot Road to showcase their craftsmanship to guests on the first three days of the CNY.

MGM is also launching the “Chinese New Year Cupcake Decoration” workshop at Anytime for 200 patacas per child, while guests with on-day spending receipts at any of MGM’s restaurants can get a half-price discount.

The statement added that MGM’s properties will also have a range of activities from the CNY’s first to eighth day. The Sea Odyssey show will have performances at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. daily at the Grande Praça and the Spectacle. The God of Fortune will also be around at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
