The Transport Bureau (DSAT) has announced that the carpark of the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape will join its network of public carparks from Friday, when it will open to all cars and motorcycles.
The bureau made the announcement in a statement on Monday.
Currently, the Macau Cultural Centre carpark, which is located in the basement, is not among the city’s network of public carparks managed by the Transport Bureau. The Macau Cultural Centre is a cultural facility managed by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).
From Friday, the carpark in the basement of the Macau Cultural Centre will become a Transport Bureau-managed public carpark, which will then have the same charging scheme as various other public carparks across the city.
According to Monday’s DSAT statement, the Macau Cultural Centre Carpark will provide a total of 169 public parking spaces, comprising 135 for cars and 34 for motorcycles.
Public carpark near One Oasis & Concórdia Industrial Park opens
Meanwhile, a new public carpark located in the basement of a new building that is located between the private residential estate One Oasis and the Concórdia Industrial Park in Coloane came into service yesterday.
The operational start of the new public carpark, officially known as Rotunda da Concórdia Carpark, was also announced in Monday’s DSAT statement.
According to the statement, the Rotunda da Concórdia Carpark has a total of 302 public parking spaces, comprising 198 for cars and 104 spaces for motorcycles.
Vasco da Gama Garden public carpark expanded
Meanwhile, since yesterday the carpark in the basement of Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion has been linked with the adjacent public carpark underneath Vasco da Gama Garden through a walkway for drivers and motorbike riders between the two carparks, according to Monday’s DSAT statement.
Before yesterday, the carpark in Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion was not a public carpark.
According to the statement, the carpark in Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion became a public carpark yesterday after its “merger” with the Vasco da Gama Garden Carpark.
After the merger that took effect yesterday, the expanded Vasco da Gama Garden Carpark now has a total of 409 public parking spaces, comprising 255 for cars and 154 for motorcycles, according to the statement.
Cars and motorcycles can only enter the area of parking spaces in Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion, now officially known as East Zone of the Vasco da Gama Garden Carpark, from Rua Filipe O’Costa. If cars and motorcycles choose to enter from Rua de Ferreira do Amaral, they can only use the pre-extension area of parking spaces in the Vasco da Gama Garden Carpark.
The three public carparks, namely the Macau Cultural Centre Carpark, the Rotunda da Concórdia Carpark, and the Vasco da Gama Garden Carpark (including the east zone), have the same charging scheme as various other public carparks across the city, according to which cars are charged six patacas per hour during the day (from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and three patacas per hour during the night (from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next day), while motorcycles are charged two patacas per hour during the day and one pataca per hour during the night.
