The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement yesterday that the Macau Grand Prix Museum will present a string of festive activities during the Chinese New Year (CNY).

From this Sunday through next Saturday, i.e., between the first and the seventh day of the CNY, the statement noted that the museum will hold the free “Explore the Guia Circuit” Bus Tour at 12 noon, 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

Museum visitors, according to the statement, can participate in a bus tour around the Guia Circuit where a local tour guide will also be present to introduce the race circuit’s characteristics. Those interested can sign up at the museum with their admission ticket for the day.

Moreover, until January 30, the museum ticket office is distributing 10 percent discount coupons to museum visitors to use at the souvenir shop.

The statement added that the souvenir shop will also launch the “Year of the Rabbit Chinese New Year Promotion”, with some products sold at 10 or 50 percent off.

Admission tickets to the museum will also come with one beverage coupon to use at the themed café.

To widen the museum exhibit collection, MGTO in conjunction with Madame Tussauds Hong Kong will debut eight wax figures of motor racers, the statement noted.

The statement underlined that the exhibits that come with the eight wax figures of the racers will first be displayed between this Sunday and February 28, where the game “Racer Wax Figures: “Guess Who?”’ will also be held for visitors to guess the identity of the eight wax figures.

Museumgoers who correctly guess all eight of the motor racers can join the lucky draw for a chance to win prizes, the results of which will be unveiled at the wax figures’ inauguration.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, including January 24. More information can be found by visiting mgpm.macaotourism.gov.mo/en or calling 8593 0515 or 8593 0516.

This year will mark the 70th anniversary of the Macau Grand Prix.
