Resort operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) said in a statement last week that it has been recognised at the International Gaming Awards (IGA) for the 13th year, winning the “Sustainability Award” this year.

The statement noted that the presentation ceremony was held at the Savoy Hotel in London and is regarded as “the ‘Oscars’ of the gaming industry”. Aside from winning the award, the statement said that Galaxy was commended for its “strong commitment to contributing to and for building a sustainable future for the communities in which it operates and for future generations”.

The statement said that the IGA highlights the achievements of outstanding global gaming online and land-based operators, with a judging panel consisting of leading international industry professionals, analysts, investors, among others. GEG, according to the statement, has won numerous IGA accolades over the years.

GEG Vice Chairman Francis Lui Yiu Tung was quoted by the statement as saying “as one of the world’s leading entertainment enterprises, GEG is firmly committed to operating a responsible business, integrating environmental and social factors into our strategic decisions and operational processes”.

He added that “We are committed to continue to contribute to building a better world for our future generations”.
