The Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) said in a statement yesterday that as of last Wednesday, more than 23,000 businesses had participated in the city’s first-ever citywide “Consumption Carnival”, generating about 1.33 billion patacas through the participants’ e-coupons, with over 16 million purchases to be automatically entered into the lucky draw for a one million pataca cash prize, and food and staycation prizes totalling three million patacas.

The statement pointed out that the lucky draw will be held at the Ho Yin Memorial Hall of the Macau Chamber of Commerce (ACM) building in Zape on March 15. It added that a professional auditor will witness the draw, and the winners will be notified as soon as possible.

The event, which was jointly launched by the bureau and the ACM on October 15 last year, will end on February 28, aiming to boost Macau’s post-pandemic economic recovery and market sentiment, the statement noted.

The statement said that participants who make a single purchase worth at least 68 patacas at participating businesses will be eligible for the lucky draw, and an instant e-coupon.

According to the statement, as of last Wednesday, more than 80 million patacas worth of e-coupons had been issued, of which about 68 million patacas worth had already been used.
