Functions of possible municipal body won’t overlap with IACM: official

Secretary for Administration and Justice Sonia Chan Hoi Fan said yesterday that the functions of a possible non-political municipal organisation will not overlap with those of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM).

Chan announced in November last year she expected a new non-political municipal organisation to be set up in 2017.

Chan made the remarks on the sidelines of the local panda twins’ 100^th-day birthday party yesterday, saying that either the bureau would be abolished once the non-political municipal organisation is established, or the bureau would  be merged with the new entity.
