MGM recently organised and held a launch ceremony at MGM COTAI for Macau’s first “Inspiring Stories of Zhang Jian Multimedia Presentation”, a story-telling multimedia documentary depicting the life and history of patriotic entrepreneur Zhang Jian, the gaming resort operator said in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement noted that the presentation was launched in partnership with the Nantong Overseas Friendship Association, Federation of Nantong Industry and Commerce and Federation of Nantong Overseas Chinese, and Nantong Friendship Association of Macau, Nantong Commercial Association of Macau and Association of Patriotism Exchange (Macao).
The presentation also offers an in-depth introduction to Zhang, who the statement said is among the “greatest entrepreneurs in contemporary Chinese history”, in addition to having been a “great educationist and philanthropist”. It is categorised into “Entrepreneurship as the Saviour of the Nation”, “National Revival Led by Education”, “Cultural Constructions” and “Charitable Works”.
Over 200 MGM staff, local community group representatives and local groups attended the event. The statement said that the organisers hope to “strengthen the sense of social responsibilities” and the national doctrine of “Four Matters of Confidences” among participants through highlighting Zhang’s entrepreneurship spirit and his love for the nation.
The statement underlined that the presentation has taken place in several major mainland cities since its debut in 2017 and has since been included in the programme of Zhang Jian Entrepreneur College. It also made its international debut at the United Nations headquarters in New York in 2018 and has had over 25 million views online over the past five years.
MGM President, Chief Strategic & Financial Officer Kenneth Feng Xiaofeng was quoted in the statement as saying “MGM hopes to inspire our team members and local youth with the core values adhered by Zhang Jian, which are patriotism, broad-mindedness, innovation, reliability, and commitment to social responsibilities”.
Feng added that the company will continue to deepen its cooperation with Jiangsu province, hoping to develop the project as “one of our key talent development programmes between Macau and Jiangsu”.
The statement added that MGM will continue to partner with Zhang Jian Entrepreneur College and launch more talent development projects to enrich its MGM National Education Series.
