The Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) announced yesterday in a statement that it will hold four job matching sessions for residents seeking jobs from next Wednesday to March 21, offering 429 positions.
Co-organised by the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM), these upcoming sessions are organised with the aim of reducing the pressure of the demand for manpower in the local job market, as well as easing local residents’ current difficulties in finding a job, according to the statement.
The Macau Federation of Trade Unions is commonly known by its Cantonese name – Gung Luen.
The statement said that the sessions will provide a wide range of vacancies as a number of leisure and entertainment and hotel projects will soon be launched, with the resumption of tourism activities between the mainland, Hong Kong and Macau.
According to the statement, for next Wednesday’s session, there will be a job matching session for the public transport sector, offering 70 jobs including bus drivers, bus terminal managers, plumbers, electricians, maintenance technicians, cleaners and administrators.
The matching session next Thursday, the statement said, will be the clothing retail sector, which offers 35 job positions for salespersons, shop managers, shop assistants, display assistants.
For the session on March 21, the last day of the sessions, will be the hospitality sector, which offers 134 jobs, including sales executives, housekeepers, front office and concierge managers, graphic designers and marketers, receptionists, personnel and administrative clerks, purchasing clerks, room attendants and waiters.
On the same day, the statement noted, a matching session will be held for 190 job positions in the integrated entertainment and services industry, including theatre managers, cinema receptionists, projectionists, car detailers, assistant supermarket managers, purchasing clerks, and cashiers.
