The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Wednesday that with the aim of deepening the public understanding of both Coloane’s and Taipa’s history, culture and cultural resources, the guided tours, which were launched by the Historical Museum of Coloane and Taipa in November last year, will continue next Saturday and Sunday, and on March 25, with free admissions.
According to the statement, the guided tours comprise three itineraries, of which one will be led by Ng Kun Cheong, a permanent honorary president of the Mutual Aid Association of Hac Sa Chun Residents, to explore the historical sites in Ka Ho Village, Hac Sa Village and Coloane, experiencing the cultural customs and traditions of the island by walking into the “old villages” and following its historical footsteps.
The other two routes connecting Taipa’s museums and cultural architecture, will be taken by a senior tour guide, who will tell the participants about the development and changes in Taipa after the Opium War, so as to enhance the cognition of the cultural history through their in-depth experience there, the statement said, adding that a coach will be provided at the designated time and place for each itinerary, with a museum souvenir for each visitor.
Those who are interested in the tours can sign up via their Macao One Account at activity.mo.gov.mo/activity-h5/activity-list-web.
