Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chong Kam Leong told reporters yesterday in front of a hotel in the city centre where the homicide had happened, that the police have arrested a suspect from Hong Kong.
The victim was a 46-year-old local woman found dead in a guestroom of the three-star Pensão Residencial Flórida (known as “Fu Dou” – “rich metropolis” in Cantonese) guesthouse on Sunday.
According to Chong, after discovering multiple “unusual” wounds on the victim’s head, the Judiciary Police launched a crime scene examination and a multi-departmental investigation.
Chong said that the police identified a male suspect from Hong Kong who was arrested in Zape yesterday.
The suspect was taken to the hotel and two flats in two separate residential buildings on Rua de Manuel de Arriaga to re-enact the crime yesterday afternoon.
Chong noted that the case details are still being sorted out, adding that a special press conference about this year’s first local murder case will be held this afternoon.
The guesthouse is located on Beco do Paralelo and Travessa do Paralelo, a blind alley next to the city’s main thoroughfare, Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro.
Judiciary Police (PJ) yesterday escort the hooded Hong Kong murder suspect carrying luggage from the hotel where Sunday’s homicide occurred to a vehicle.
