A local high school student in his twenties with multiple records of riding motorcycles without a licence has been arrested again for the same offence, Public Security Police (PSP) spokeswoman Kuong Chi Ian said at a regular press conference yesterday.

The suspect is surnamed Wong.

According to Kuong, Wong encountered a police checkpoint when riding a motorcycle on Avenida Marginal Flor de Lótus on Sunday and tried to escape by speeding through the roadblock. Wong even jumped a red light during the police pursuit but was intercepted later near Seac Pai Van in Coloane.

Under questioning, Wong admitted the wrongdoing and said that the motorcycle was borrowed from a friend who doesn’t have a driving licence either.

Wong has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges of aggravated disobedience and dangerous driving, Kuong said.

This undated pixilated photo provided by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday shows the local suspect being escorted by PSP officers to a police station.
