“Kino Film Festival”, an annual event in Hong Kong for some years, is making its debut in Macau tomorrow, bringing two weekends of German films ranging from classics, new wave to original shorts on to the silver screen at Cinematheque – Passion.
The festival is presented by the local Association Audio-Visual CUT and Goethe-Institut Hong Kong, and the films will be showcased at the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s (IC) newly-opened cinema located near St Paul’s Ruins.
“Kino” means “cinema” in German. The festival in Macau, from tomorrow until October 16, is an extension of the Kino festival in Hong Kong. While the festival features 10 films in Hong Kong, its counterpart in Macau will feature eight, some of which are not part of the Hong Kong programme.
A scene from one of the films from “Short Export” to be shown during the Kino Film Festival.
